About this free investing course

This is a free investing course for UK beginners. It is built for anyone who wants to learn to invest and manage their money properly but has been put off by jargon, sales pitches or the feeling that investing is only for people who already have wealth. You do not need any experience and you do not need to sign up.

The course is organised into 11 chapters that build on each other, from budgeting and clearing debt through to building an emergency fund, opening the right accounts, and investing for the long term. Along the way you will learn how ISAs and pensions actually work in the UK, why low-cost index funds beat most active strategies, how compound growth turns small regular contributions into real wealth, and how the FIRE (financial independence, retire early) movement approaches money. Each chapter mixes short lessons, in-depth articles, and free calculators so you can apply what you learn to your own numbers.

It is free because we think clear, honest financial education should not sit behind a paywall. The whole course is written for a UK audience, so the tax rules, account types and worked examples reflect how things really work here, not in the US. Start with the guided "Start here" path above if you are brand new, or browse straight to the chapter that matches where you are now.

This course is educational and does not constitute financial advice. Investing puts your capital at risk; the value of investments can go down as well as up.

Frequently asked questions

Is this investing course really free?

Yes. Every lesson, article and calculator in the course is free to use, with no paywall and no sign-up required. We believe clear financial education should be available to everyone, so the whole thing is open. You can optionally create a free account to save your progress across devices, but you do not need one to learn.

Do I need any experience to start?

No. The course assumes you are starting from scratch. The "Start here" path walks complete beginners through the essentials in order, and every concept is explained in plain English without jargon. If you already know the basics, you can skip straight to a later chapter.

How long does the course take?

You can read the core lessons in a few hours, but the course is designed to be worked through at your own pace over days or weeks as you apply each step to your own finances. There is no timer and no deadline, so you can dip in and out whenever it suits you.

Is it suitable for UK investors?

Yes. The course is written specifically for a UK audience. The tax rules, account types and worked examples cover UK products such as Stocks and Shares ISAs, Lifetime ISAs, SIPPs and workplace pensions, rather than US accounts. If you are investing in the UK, everything here applies to you.

Do I need to sign up?

No sign-up is needed to read the course or use the calculators. Creating a free account simply lets you save your progress and pick up where you left off on another device. Everything is accessible without one.
